Happy Birthday to Me!

Argh! You know what happened last week? Well, it was Reading Week and also my birthday, but I’m talking about something more earthshattering (or earthshocking!) than that… Doctor Who was filming on Queen’s Street, part of the shopping centre in Cardiff, and I missed being there by a couple of hours. Gah! I went back home to Dolgellau and walked through the very place they were filming on the way to the station. Just an hour or two after I left the city for a couple of days, Doctor Who turned up basically on my doorstep. Perhaps they’re on to my presence here in Cardiff and waited until I was away to stop my coming and taking pictures of them. Someone else was around to do so though – Outpost Gallifrey has a report with some pictures here.

Anyway, apart from that tantalizing disappointment, I enjoyed a quiet birthday at home in the wilds of Wales, and with some of my birthday money have just bought the Star Wars trilogy DVD set and the novel Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell Hopefully I’ll have some interesting musings on them sometime soon. The weekend was pretty good too, since I had a dear friend from Contagious visiting Cardiff, and was very well-fed at the Mackintosh student lunch. I’ve also handed in my Journalism essay today, which is worth 50% of the module, and I’m very relieved to have finished it. Well, that’s a quick update on what I’ve been up to, I hope to share some more musings here soon!
